Hey guys - I recently decided to bite and buy some dropfleet commander... a space battle game.

So far I put together the assets (fighters, bombers and torpedos) and three ships for a separate project (I needed ships for a Traveller RPG we are starting in a month).

There are also a bunch of ships in the starter box.

Here are the assets.

the game is apparently 1:9150 scale... and yes.. those fighters and bombers are on 20mm square bases. :O

This will definitely be different from what I'm used to.

Yeah. I've heard great things and then I saw that Andy Chambers wrote the rules (he also wrote the rules for the most excellent Battlefleet Gothic), so I got it.

Here are the assets when they are painted,  just so you can see the detail.

And here are the battleships I have to put together still.

The Shaltari are my fav faction in this game for sure. Can't wait to see your work.

Have you checked out the rules for dropfleet? Is it similar to the rules for dropzone. It would be kinda cool to do a linked game..

Oh shit. I didnt even realize this wasn't Dropzone Commander. I have no models, just that one factions appealed to me.

i play both dropzone and dropfleet, i would highly recommend both. And you could easily link them in some kind of map campaign . BoW had a weekend camp before xmas for dropfleet. During that weekend they had combined dropzone on one table and dropfleet on another. The actions of dropfleet bombarding the city table had effects on the game for dropzone.

Yeah. i was reading about that - are the systems similar? I'm just asking, because Dropfleet was developed by Andy Chambers - and reading the rules, it seemed pretty similar to Battlefleet Gothic - unless i'm mistaken.... mind you, it's been about 15 years since I've played a game of Battlefleet.

It's just a basecoat. I'll try to finish them tomorrow.

Just a small update. I finally decided on a base colour for my UCM fleet.

These are still just works in progress. I'm testing my final theme on one of the frigates first, as you can see.

Thanks. There will be a bunch of OSL on the model when it's finished. Any ideas for the colour I should do the lights?
